Astra
park, is the most central park and one of the most
beautiful. It is situated in front of the ASTRA
Palace and includes a couple of statues representing
personalities of Romanian culture connected with
ASTRA Association: Gheorghe Baritiu (1912), Timotei
Cipariu, Octavian Goga, Andrei Muresaniu, Ioan Slavici,
Gheorghe Lazar, Andrei Saguna and Badea Cartan.
The Baritiu monument located in front of the ASTRA
library main entrance is the most beautiful. It
was the work of Oskar Späthe in 1912.
Beside the ASTRA Palace, built here in 1905, other
remarkable building is the Helping School for Deaf
(1886).
